Absolutely delicious! We stayed in the hotel and ate here because of reviews. We were not disappointed! We enjoyed our empanadas, cheese and meat board and chicken and chorizo paella! Just delicious! Prices are high but portions are very big! My husband and I had lots of leftovers. Excellent selection of wines as well, enjoy!

Gorgeous ambiance with large bronze door pulls, warm stone and wood table tops. I appreciate the quality of their decor. Their food and service match the ambiance. Great Spanish food. I really enjoy their tapas. The pallela was great. Eat here!

Fresh, local, produce expertly curated with delectable garnishments. I had the lamb tapas with amazing spices, veggies and greek yogurt. Absolute to live for deliciousness! The Del Rancho Paella's richness and flavor was rivaled only by its spectacular presentation. Bravo Chef Gustavo and staff. The waitstaff from our initial greeting through our regretful departure was exceptional. This will be a must-stop each time I return to the beautiful Monterey Bay.

A four star review upgraded to five thanks to our incredible server… The setting is lovely (the patio), the servers are great natured (not in any hurry - please tell them if you are!) and the food is pretty good (the wagyu beef steak is tasty and quite reasonably priced).

They were able to accommodate us with our dog even though the usual patio was closed for construction. They found a corner spot away from other guests for us to tuck into. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and really made the experience phenomenal. The best part was the dog friendly menu. Our dog is always anxious when traveling and having a fresh cooked meal helps maintain her appetite otherwise she'd refuse to eat on the road, and this place was able to provide a relaxing and safe atmosphere for our dog as well as nutritious food. As for human food, definitely try the Iberico pork. It's our favorite meal so far.

Add this place to your list while visiting Monterey, CA. We loved each small plate tapas that we ordered. Four plates were the perfect option for two diners. You will not be disappointed.

Love the happy hour at the restaurant's patio. From the left of the hotel lobby, a foot path leading to the iron gate of the patio. We ordered the Brussel sprouts and garlic prawns. Both are of good portion size. Washed them down with sangria, delicious. Latino jazz is playing in the background and jasmine scant is in the air. This is living.

A revisit to Esteban's with my oldest friend and it's even better than our last visit!! It was FABULOUS! The patio is so much fun!! We also noticed they added intensive heaters for the fog! We came with our doggie and truly this restaurant brought us so much joy! Esteban's keeps improving in such a tough tough business!! Paella Tuesdays are a very good deal. For $38 you get a beautiful 3 course meal. It included a good sized Caesar salad, veg mini paella and a crème Brûlée to die for!! We ordered 2 other tapas on their happy hour menu- potatoes bravas done to perfection and their clams/mussels on the happy hour menu. The sauce was incredible and we ordered more bread. None of us could get over how delicious it was! Chef Ben Hillan is TOPS! He's inventive, low key and his amazing energy comes forth in every dish!! I watched all the plates and very happy customers! Kudos also to Elimar Acosta, the food and beverage manager! Clearly he was working overtime serving tables and seeing to it , everyone was comfortable! Service is interesting here as all the servers pitch in ! All friendly & accomodating! If you haven't been yet I say RUN to my most favorite dining establishment. Please don't tell too many others as we want to keep it so very special! To everyone there- who added to our amazing memory! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! YOU ALL ROCK!!!

We returned for our 25th anniversary (we were here the first time for our 13th anniversary and I will say that it is still amazing as ever. We opted to attend during happy hour. They offer a nice happy hour from 4:30-6:00 daily. There were a couple of items that we had on our first visit that are no longer on the menu, but that is ok everything we did have was amazing. The brussel sprouts are a must-have, crispy with just a hint of char. We could have eaten a couple of bowls of them. Jamon Serrano Y Manchego is a nice variety of bites to pair together. Mejillones Y Alemjas is a nice combination of seafood and cooked perfectly. Westholme Wagyu Bavette had to be some of the most tender meat we have ever had. It was perfection on a plate. Our server Jessie had not been working at the restaurant very long but she was amazing. She made sure to answer all our questions, that we had everything we needed and to check on us regularly. She did not even mind that we ordered one thing at a time to enjoy each of them before ordering another. We will be back the next time we are in town.
